someone else posted something a similar experience, this is one i had regarding my mom.my mom died last year.
she had been in failing health for years, but the last 2 year were pretty rough for her, with lots of visits to the hospital.
the last 4 months, it was the hospital, a skilled nursing facility/rehab unit, and finally, a nursing home.
I'm facing that situation in the near future. Being on ignore suits me but wife needs attention.
I had slim hopes the "total ministry" change would make a few visits, but no. The memorial services are given low priority so waiting a month or 2 us normal. Getting 10 minutes on the person is more than usual then the Sunday talk portion. The reception seems to be the draw because ALL witnesses crave a party.
A semi private remembrance is my plan.
imagine if all the governing body resigned and a new set of brothers came in and said we are very very sorry for all those who have been disfellowshipped and disassociated over the years.
we know many mistakes have been made.
we are really genuinely sorry to all those who have been hurt and especially those who have died and been hurt by these mistakes.
Won't happen and wouldn't work. The thing with disfellowshipping is it can be a frivolous charge, but at other times the wrong doing is something the congregation (and oublic) needs protected from. The details and implementstion are screwy as is the inconsistency

KH conf is harder to use, less reliable. But it does have more control. Zoom may be getting more expensive.
I worry about spying, no control on camera.
I can do without fine but have nearly bedfast family who needs the meetings even though sleeping through them. No personal encouragement, even the remaining friend pushes service. That is a well worn subject in other posts
